Official Contest Rules

Eligibility: Contest is open to all natural persons age 21 and older who are legal residents of the United States for the duration of the Contest. Employees, officers and directors of Host, its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfillment agencies, their immediate family members and persons living in their same household, are not eligible to participate in the Contest. Void where prohibited. All federal, provincial, state, and local laws and regulations apply.

How to Enter: No purchase necessary. Complete the online entry form at www.madeinsouthdakota.com. All entries become the exclusive property of Host and will not be acknowledged or returned. Participants are required to complete an online application. Mandatory fields to be completed include first and last name, complete mailing address, and email address. (Full names of contestants will not be displayed on www.madeinsouthdakota.com during the voting period.) By completing the application for the Made in South Dakota’s Most Romantic Couple, the Participant agrees to receive promotional information from the Host. One entry per household. Duplicate entries will be removed before official voting. The South Dakota Department of Tourism and State Development reserves the right to exclude all inappropriate content.

Host is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected entries. Entrants agree that the Host, its affiliates, directors, officers and agents are not liable for and will be held harmless against any and all claims to injury, for technical hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or incomplete or garbled computer transmissions which might limit a consumer’s ability to participate in the Contest. Host reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest or disqualify a participant if fraud or technical failures destroy the Contest as determined by the host.

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROMOTION IS IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW. HOST RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Prize: One winner will receive a night at one of three South Dakota bed and breakfast establishments listed on the Made in South Dakota website and a Made in South Dakota gift basket. OR a $200 gift certificate redeemable at www.madeinsouthdakota.com. Total Value: $200

Other expenses and/or services not specified are the sole responsibility of the Winner. No alternative prize, cash, or other substitution is permitted. Prize is not transferable. All federal, state, provincial, and/or local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

All reservations must be made by calling the B&B of choice at least two weeks in advance of planned travel dates and are subject to availability. Vacation prize package must be redeemed by February 14, 2009.

Selection of Winner: Winner will be determined by online voting, February 3-12, 2008. Entrant stories will be displayed online at this time. All decisions are final and binding. Winner will be notified by email and/or telephone within one business day of the voting period. Winner will have seven days from notification to accept the prize by U.S. mail. Host is not responsible for and shall not be liable for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify winner or for late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts of winner to claim prize.

Winner and winner's traveling companion(s) ("Guest or Guests") will be required to sign and return waivers of liability, indemnification and medical releases. If Winner is not of age of majority in state of residence, prize may be awarded in name of parent or guardian and parent or guardian may be required to sign such release, declaration and consent agreement. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim prize, or fails to timely return the completed and executed declarations and releases as required, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. In the event of a tie, a coin will be tossed to determine the winner.

Winners List and Official Rules: To obtain a copy of the winners list or a copy of these Official Rules, send your request along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: South Dakota Department of Tourism and State Development, Made in South Dakota, 711 E. Wells Ave., Pierre, SD 57501. Requests must be received no later than August 31, 2008.
