Owl Tipi Art
Harley and Monika Zephier are the artists of Owl Tipi Art.
Our Art Studio is located on top of the bluffs, overlooking the Owl River (Moreau), just North of Dupree, South Dakota.
We are working in natural mediums, and create a great variety of works. Most of our materials are collected, and hand prepared by us, right here in the Thunder Butte area.
Each piece is completely handcrafted, and one-of-a-kind.
Harley is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. His works include traditional Lakota/Dakota Art,
like drums, parfleches, warrior dolls, bone knives, buffalo hide items, dream catchers, shields, and much more. Harley creates his artwork in the tradition, and with the knowledge, of his Lakota and Dakota ancestors.
Monika creates jewelry from American Bison bone and horn, antler, stone and fossils. She is also a wood carver, and a painter. Paintings are done with self collected, genuine earth pigment paints - on rawhide, hide, or wood. Monika's speciality is pyrography on bone, antler, leather, and wood.
Her works include unique, all handmade jewelry, dolls, parfleches, bone knives, wood, antler, and bone carvings, rawhide paintings, rattles, and much more.
Our inspiration always is Mother Nature, and the Ancient Peoples of the Plains.
