Rita Tate Art
Rita Tate is one of South Dakota's most admired artists. Her work is in the homes of collectors around the world.
Rita is a self taught, free hand artist who has received many awards. She completed her first drawing at age three. In seventh grade, her teacher asked to purchase a work she had handed in as an assignment. As a professional, Rita worked exclusively in pencil for 18 years. Today, she works in oil, pastel, watercolor and also does sculpture. She currently has 58 editions of prints, seven of which are sold out.
The South Dakota Art Museum in Brookings has scheduled a showing of her work from December 2009 to March 2010.
