My name is Louise Lyman from Yankton SD.
I am a versatile painter who works in oils, acrylics, watercolors and pastels. Because of my experience creating wearable art "as in having been a beautician for years," I have a keen sense of perfectionalism and style. My professionalism as a colorist serves me well in producing tones, values and quality of stylistic work. But further acquaintance with my unique biography including the sources, and inspirations behind my work reveal the somewhat abstract talent of an artist who has inspiring passion, intellectual edge and solid technique to create a genuinely original body of work.
I resided in Sioux Falls,SD for 34 years,was educated as a
psychologist. Being a christian and drawing upon my training in psychology and other academic studies I develped a variety of ideas, thus broadening my work, giving it a more fluid open ended character that invites the viewer to appreciate it in his/her own unique way.
The special combination of elements I bring to my work, artistic, personal, and professional, gives me the credibility of an original, while each of my individual pieces certainly "speaks for itself."
My creative and insightful background, ideas, and singular technique, bestow a degree of vitality and significance that expresses the true measure of my work.
