Crochet has always been one of my passions.
I have enjoyed it all of my life, beginning as a little girl when I made up clothes for my dolls.
I like crocheting gifts and contributing items to the fundraising efforts of a non-profit organization I belong to.
The pattern for my heart sachets is kind of a family heirloom. It has been passed down through the women on my mother`s side of the family since the 19th century.
Noone knows for certain who started these hearts or invented their pattern.
The original hearts were Christmas ornaments.
My mother and I branched out into making all the different color combinations.
The Rainbow Dragons and baby afghans are my own creations.
I love dragons and dragon lore.
The endless variations and possibilities [I haven`t yet thought of] for afghan patterns/designs keep me exited and making more.
I start each afghan at it`s center and surprise myself with what emerges.........
My baby afghans are one-of-a-kind pieces, not two of them are alike.
However, all are more or less star-shaped, some are rounder, others pointier.
All afghans are made with Red Heart Soft Yarn, a cuddly soft yarn.
Size is approximately 36 inch in diameter.
Some are a bit larger, others a tad smaller, depending upon the lacyness or denseness of their pattern.
Many of my afghans are other colors than what is usually considered traditional baby colors, although I do use those also.
Not all are traditionally flat either. Some are ruffled and/or textured or have small ribbons added.
