It is of a "Buffalo Hunt" and of a time when our people lived 'happy and healthy.' Our ancestors understood we would be a pitiful people without the generosity of the Buffalo to give of itself so that our people would live.

A sacred bond existed between the Buffalo and our people. Therefore, all of the Buffalo was used, nothing was wasted.... "As the buffalo goes, so do our people, the Lakota."
